Client Need
In the heart of the Zuidas lies 2Amsterdam, a redeveloped office building formerly known as the “Twin Tower” complex. Both towers are BREEAM-certified and offer a modern, sustainable office concept. Commissioned by Commerz Real, Maison Libre designed four floors of innovative workspaces tailored to the new way of working.

With the rise of hybrid working and smaller office footprints, companies are increasingly seeking flexible workspaces of 300–400 m² rather than large 1,500 m² floors. This shift calls for turnkey units that deliver strong value for both tenants and landlords.

 

Approach: Collaboration and Innovation

Maison Libre, in collaboration with Commerz Real, 1530 Real Estate, and About Projects, designed a flexible workspace concept that perfectly aligns with the needs of professionals such as lawyers, hedge fund managers, and traders establishing themselves in the Zuidas.

We defined the optimal unit sizes and required facilities, with a strong focus on flexibility, efficiency, and collaboration.

Shared Space with Its Own Identity
The workspace combines shared facilities with the possibility for tenants to maintain their own identity within enclosed units. Shared amenities include high-end meeting rooms, a refined reception area, a fully equipped kitchen, and dedicated lounge and relaxation spaces. The interior design by BigBrands contributes to an exclusive and elevated atmosphere.

The units can be flexibly configured with both informal work settings and private meeting rooms, which are easily bookable via an app. Thanks to high-quality, sustainable materials and a refined finish, 2Amsterdam offers a contemporary and comfortable working environment where collaboration and privacy coexist seamlessly.
